# Spaceships

Your starship is one of the most vital assets you will command in Pulsar Rift. Every ship class and model is unique, with distinct characteristics. Some boast heavier hull plating for durability, others offer greater cargo capacity for trade and mining, while certain frames feature more hardpoints for weapon modules.

This versatility allows for deep customization to match your playstyle and goals. If your path leads through combat zones and dangerous missions, investing in additional weapon systems is wise. If you seek fortune in mining, equipping specialized extraction tools will be key. Your ship is a reflection of your ambition.

In the settled galaxy, most technologies are cross-compatible. You can freely mix and match modules from various human and alien manufacturers to create a hybrid vessel that suits your needs. However, some exotic alien technologies are proprietary and will only interface with specific, compatible ship frames.

An unwritten rule of the spacer's code is the visual distinction of ship rarity by hull color:

* <mark style="color:$warning;">**Common**</mark>**:** <mark style="color:$warning;">Orange</mark>/<mark style="color:$info;">Gray</mark>
* <mark style="color:$success;">**Uncommon**</mark>**:** <mark style="color:$success;">Green</mark>
* <mark style="color:blue;">**Rare**</mark>**:** <mark style="color:blue;">Blue</mark>
* <mark style="color:yellow;">**Epic**</mark>**:** <mark style="color:yellow;">Yellow</mark>
* <mark style="color:purple;">**Legendary**</mark>**:** <mark style="color:purple;">Purple</mark>
* <mark style="color:$danger;">**Mythical**</mark>**:** <mark style="color:$danger;">Red</mark>
* <mark style="background-color:orange;">**Shadow:**</mark> <mark style="background-color:orange;"></mark><mark style="background-color:orange;">Brown</mark>

Beyond this spectrum exist alien and special-class vessels. These ships do not follow the standard rarity system, featuring unique color schemes and possessing extraordinary innate abilities.

The journey from a Common hull to a Mythical-grade vessel is long but rewarding, culminating in a powerful, resilient, and exceptionally capable ship. However, acquiring every class and achieving the highest rarities is a monumental challenge, a feat considered nearly impossible by most.

**Tend to your ship.** It is your home, your tool, and your steadfast companion. Know its limits as you know your own, and avoid conflicts where the odds could leave you stranded among the stars.
