# Alien threats

Humanity has long since encountered alien intelligence. While the ancient, hyper-advanced super-civilizations perished long ago, leaving only ruins and artifacts, a multitude of other intelligent species evolved alongside humanity.

Many of these species have become allies and partners, uniting their strengths and intellects for mutual progress. However, some are hopelessly hostile and reclusive, rejecting all contact.

Among these are the worst kind: predators who have perfectly adapted to a life of raiding and killing, mirroring the galaxy's common pirates and bandits—but with a crucial difference. Armed with superior technology and sometimes enhanced physical or intellectual capabilities, they are far more dangerous. Few captains survive an encounter with an alien threat of this magnitude.

These threats are defined by:

* **Fast and Resilient Ships**
* **Powerful, Exotic Weaponry**
* **Superior Tactics and Coordination**
* **Inherent Aggression**

This combination makes them an exceptionally lethal force.

The wisest course of action is to **avoid sectors** where encounters with such aggressively inclined intelligent lifeforms are likely. If detection occurs, immediate disengagement is often the only viable survival tactic. Engaging them is not a test of skill; it is a gamble with survival itself.
