# Resources

In the universe of Pulsar Rift, the extraction of diverse resources is the cornerstone of all wealth and technological advancement. A pilot's path to riches and power is paved with the raw materials harvested from asteroids, salvaged from wreckage, and mined from the depths of space.

* **Gems Shards:** Crystalline fragments of varying purity and brilliance.
* **Metal Chunks:** Raw, unrefined ore masses of different metallic compositions.
* **Gas Particles:** Trapped pockets of rare atmospheric or volatile gases.
* **Organic Cells:** Preserved biological matter or exotic xenofauna samples.

Raw fragments are the starting point, not the final product. At any space station equipped with a [**Crafting Machine**](/pulsar-rift/craft.md), you can process these fragments into valuable, finished commodities.

* **Metals:** Smelted and purified ingots used for ship construction and module manufacturing.
* **Gems:** Precisely cut and polished precious stones, crucial for advanced electronics and energy systems.
* **Condensed Gas:** Stabilized and highly pressurized in containment canisters, used for propulsion, life support, and chemical synthesis.
* **Bio-Substances:** Refined organic materials or cultured cell colonies stored in specialized bio-canisters, essential for medical supplies, genetic research, and certain alien technologies.

**Example:** Smelting **4 Diamond Shards** at a crafting station yields **1 complete Diamond**.
