# Galactic Atlas

For centuries, humanity has spread across the galaxy, guided by the paths of the Pilgrims. Each leap into the unknown brought incredible discoveries and greater distances, forcing technological progress at a breakneck pace.

The mastery of stable **Wormhole Gateways** and other anomalies allowed even modest ships, equipped with a basic [**Sensor Array**](/pulsar-rift/ship-system/sensor-arrays.md), to traverse vast interstellar lanes safely. This era was followed by the monumental discovery of Zero-Point Field and Subspace, leading to the invention of the [**Jump Drive**.](/pulsar-rift/jump-drive.md)

This technology enabled ships to make directed jumps across staggering distances, far faster than previously imaginable. However, it came with severe limitations and dangers: enormous energy costs, coordinate miscalculations leading to catastrophic misjumps, and a high percentage of ships lost forever to the void. As a result, while Jump Drive technology continues to be refined, most travel still relies on well-mapped, stable wormholes and anomalies.

Rumors persist of alien artifacts and technologies that allow for more controlled and far-reaching jumps than anything humanity has achieved. These are kept under utmost secrecy, rarely falling into human hands. Using such poorly understood xeno-tech is a profound risk and is strongly discouraged.

Currently, the **United Stellar Confederation (USC)** maintains control and influence over **six core planetary systems**. These systems are accessible via known, stable wormhole networks, provided a ship has the proper equipment.

Systems are classified into six **Tiers (1-6)**, based on their strategic value, resource potential, and overall development.

**Core Systems of the USC:**

* <mark style="color:$warning;">**Emberis Prime   (Tier: 1)**</mark>
  * **☀️**Emberis (K5V Orange Dwarf)
  * **🌍**Terradia | Nerith
* <mark style="color:$success;">**Viridion Veil   (Tier: 2)**</mark>
  * **☀️**Viridion, "Viridia" (G2VX Anomalous Green-Tinted Yellow Dwarf)
  * **🌍**Eden | Mirage | Somnium
* <mark style="color:blue;">**Custodia   (Tier: 3)**</mark>
  * **☀️**Lumenara (B2V Blue Main Sequence)
  * **🌍**Vesper | Caldera | Arcadia
* <mark style="color:yellow;">**Golden Void   (Tier: 4)**</mark>
  * **☀️**Helios (F5III Yellow-White Giant)
  * **🌍**Ithar | Seyra | Dravon | Seraphis
* <mark style="color:purple;">**Kaiju "The Kaiju Scar"   (Tier: 5)**</mark>
  * **☀️**Nemesis/Amethyst/Hyperion (O8V Violet-Tinted O-class Anomaly)
  * **🌍**Aria | Veylor | Talis | Mizar
* <mark style="color:$danger;">**Cerberus Gate   (Tier: 6)**</mark>
  * **☀️**Ares (M3V Red Dwarf)
  * **🌍**Pyris | Cronus | Arken | Zemet

To travel to each of these systems, unveiled by the Pilgrims with their unforgettable vistas, hidden riches, and endless adventure, is the ultimate dream of every aspiring captain.
